The People’s Power Minister for Defense, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López asserted this Friday, March 3, that Commander Hugo Chávez, since coming to power on February 2, 1999, convinced the soldiers of the value of love, ” the love of neighbor, the love of defending a people, which had been attacked by the rulers of the Fourth Republic and love of defending the Homeland”.
The statements were offered by the head of that office during his participation in the World Meeting: Validity of the Bolivarian Thought of Commander Chávez in the 21st century, which was held at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas.
Padrino López recalled the historical events that made Chávez rise up against the government of Carlos Andrés Pérez on February 4, 1992, and said that it was the spearhead for awakening the conscience of the people and allowing that irreverent soldier to join to the national political life to transform the nation.
Minister Padrino López was emphatic in assuring that Commander Chávez managed to end poverty and transformed the thinking of the people “the leader of the Revolution managed to outline a national strategy based on important issues that remain in force today thanks to his leadership.” .
He recalled that after the coup in 2002, Chávez called for unity beyond the political forces, reorganized the Armed Forces and managed to strengthen the military apparatus that was still dispersed, aimlessly, divided, demoralized, in a social anomie or lack of interest in public affairs “Chávez achieved this reunification and achieved the cohesion of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the incorporation into the affairs of the Nation.”
Likewise, he expressed that Commander Chávez summoned the civic-military union and made the soldier with all his preparation and discipline, able to complement and incorporate himself in the tasks of the communities, field, in tasks of daily life of the people. .
In this sense, Minister Padrino López said that “it is amazing to see how Venezuela’s people love their homeland and expressed it by enrolling by millions in the Bolivarian militia.”
The head of Defense emphasized that despite all war that Venezuela has faced, the FANB remains loyal to Chávez, to his thinking, we have been loyal to his legacy, to the Homeland, “the Latin American military must see themselves in the mirror of the phenomenon that existed in the FANB and how Chávez’s contributions have allowed us to defend sovereignty, people and the revolution”.
