The moment they shoot Argentine deputy Miguel Arias in the middle of the campaign
The legislator was participating in a rally of the ruling Frente de Todos when he was shot .22 caliber.
Argentine deputy Miguel Arias was shot on Thursday while participating in a campaign event in the town of Tapebicuá, in the Argentine province of Corrientes. The incident was described by the national government as “a political attack.”
At the time of receiving a .22 caliber weapon shot in the abdomen, Arias accompanied Fabián Ríos and Martín Barrionuevo, who constitute the Peronist formula of the Corrientes de Todos Front, which will seek provincial government in next Sunday’s elections.
In a video published by local media, it can be seen that upon receiving the bullet Arias was sitting on a stage, while the candidate for vice-mayor of Tapebicuá, Gloria Pared, gave her last pre-election speech.
The legislator was operated on and is “stable”, after which he was transferred this Friday to a hospital in the provincial capital in a medical aircraft.
