National Movement Esequibano and Esequibo Rescue coordinator , Colonel of the Army Pompeyo Torrealba assured that the attempt of the right – headed by the former deputy of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó – to negotiate the territory of the Esequibo, in exchange for political support , means dismembering part of the entire geographical configuration of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
During a telephone interview for La Radio del Sur, Border Affairs specialist said that the claims of the right to deliver the Esequibo aims to cut off the geographical space of Venezuela.
“They seek to curtail part of geographical space that was given to us and won based on all the efforts made by our heroes to give us freedom, independence and sovereignty,” he said.
The attempt of the right to negotiate the Esequibo, “it is a barbarism what they are doing in planning an operation, where the ownership of the territory of Esequibo is in question”, (disputed territory between Venezuela and Guyana for more than 100 years).
“They (Guaidó and allies) don`t know about our history, where the Esequibo territory is a geographical space that belongs to Venezuela because of its history, reason and justice. We must fight to recover a geographical space that was severed from the state of Bolívar and Delta Amacuro, ”said the Border Affairs specialist.
“We have an unavoidable obligation to make a moral, historical and territorial compensation of a geographical space that belongs to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” said Torrealba.
In this regard, he mentioned the Public Ministry will take the corresponding actions based on legal barbarity that would represent delivering part of Venezuelan territory such as the Essequibo.
The Border Affairs specialist recalled that the US empire has sought 1,000 different ways to obtain geographical space of Venezuela.
“English empire at the time it`s buys from Trinidad and Tobago that was Spanish territory in 1802, was geographically seeking to seize a Orinoco river`s mouth that guaranteed navigation and river interconnection, where it flows into the Amazon, that is, the strategic, commercial and economic part has been present both yesterday and today, ”he said.
In recent days, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, asked the Attorney General’s Office to investigate deputy Juan Guaidó with the intention of abandoning the claim of the South American country to Guyana for the Essequibo region.
Maduro said it`s a plan to exchange the area known as Guyana Esequiba located in eastern Venezuela for US political support.
