The national superintendent of Cryptoactives and related activities of Venezuela (SUNACRIP), Joselit Ramírez, attended a meeting Tuesday with representatives of airlines, businesses, suppliers and dealers linked to civil aviation, to explain the vision, scope and technological advances of the sovereign cryptocurrency «El Petro», as well as its adequacy and importance in the international trading system.
The event was held at Maiquetía International Airport Institute (IAIM), an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation (MPPT) and was led by Deputy Air Minister and General Director of the IAIM, Carlos Vieira; the president of INAC, Freddy Borges; the President of Aeropostal, Arturo Táriba and representatives of Antwerp and Bancar, exchange houses authorized by Sunacrip.
During his speech, Ramírez explained Venezuela is at the forefront of the world of digital assets, with the usability of Petro, a currency framed in the National Cryptoactive Plan, “based on the Constitutional Decree of January 30, 2019, as State policy on cryptocurrencies ».
Next, he pointed out that there are technical typologies for the improvement of own technological platforms, such as Petro Ahorro, from the Patria platform; the PetroApp and the multi-currency wallet.
He stressed that airlines, as well as operators and dealers of the air transport sector already have the Legal PetroApp and other applications, including QR code on Petro payment gateway.
He added that “these payment mechanisms are a form of technological and computer independence because Petro is born to rescue country’s technological sovereignty.”
The Sunacrip Superintendent stated categorically that a fully projected Petro ecosystem has been created and made available to an asset such as Petro, fully backed by nation wealth.
