The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said Monday that the Caribbean country is working on cryptocurrencies as a free system for national and international payments, in the coming days, announcements will be given on the subject.
“We have been working with cryptocurrencies. The Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) have new instruments, which we will activate very soon so everyone can make banking, financial transactions, nationally and internationally, through the accounts of the Central Bank of Venezuela, ”
Said the president before assuring that official announcements will be given in the coming days.
“The staff is also studying proposals that would allow cryptocurrencies to be accounted for as part of international reserves, now near their lowest level in the last three decades, with $ 7.9 billion,” the media report said.
