JUNE 2, 2022 From the command post of the Ministry of Defense, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, evaluated Operation Bolivarian Shield 2022.
He once again urged the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to dismantle the physical, territorial, and logistic aspects; military, political and social to all these TANCOL groups (armed terrorist drug traffickers from Colombia) dedicated to terrorism and drug trafficking.
The president announced that 257 structures of the TANCOL camps in Apure have been destroyed, which 23 was laboratories.
Through Operation Bolivarian Shield, 1,360 improvised explosive devices and 26 drug laboratories have been dismantled, according to the CODAI (Comprehensive Aerospace Defense Command).
He added that in 10 years, 295 drug trafficking planes have been neutralized.
“We have an intense battle, they must dismantle, all the TANCOLs serve the Colombian government, they are enemies of Venezuela,” he said.
The president announced that military and police operations will be increased to eliminate Colombian criminal groups in the country.
“The Tancols are enemies of Venezuela, they serve the Colombian government, the armed drug trafficking groups.”
Maduro also recalled that the Colombian border has been abandoned for decades.
“The country fights against the greatest enemy of health – he said when referring to drug trafficking – and life of the peoples, which comes from the political power of Colombia,” President Maduro sentenced.
Maduro pointed out that this strategy of drug trafficking and Colombian paramilitary terrorism is supported by the United States.
«From the neighboring country they brought all the dirty methods and injured and killed peasants and soldiers. They are operational groups that are financed by drug trafficking »he added.
The FANB must join the 1×10 of Good Government
The head of state instructed the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, to join the 1×10 of the Good Government to meet the needs of the population in terms of security.
He also announced that in recent months four fronts have been developed against the TANCOL with the operations: Vuelvan Caras for Apure, Barinas, Cojedes and Guárico; Cacique Murachi op in Táchira; Catatumbo’s Lightning op in Zulia and Cacique Manaure op in Falcón.
In this sense, the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (CEOFANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez, explained that 45 clandestine airstrips have been disabled in the last 30 days.
Similarly, Hernández Lárez stressed that he has seized 11,856 kilos of materials and substances for the preparation of these explosives. He noted that short and long weapons, cartridges of different calibers, mortars and more have also been seized.
Most of the seized weapons and war items are made by the United States and by countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Other means captured are 26 boats, 14 vehicles and two Tancol submersible submarines.
