South Korea and the US have conducted combined air drills over the Yellow Sea, Seoul’s Defense Ministry said. The United States flew B-1B bombers and F-22 and F-35 fighter jets alongside South Korean fighters. The ministry also said the exercise was a response to North Korea’s growing nuclear ambitions.
The drills came after a meeting between US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup, where they agreed to increase the frequency of joint military drills and expand their scale and level.
