The Argentine defense minister accuses the United Kingdom of showing its “imperial arrogance” by preventing the sale of South Korean fighter jets to Argentina.
Agustín Rossi explained on thursday the impossibility to buy these aircraft because according to the manufacturing company Korean Aerospace Industries “the export of six main components produced by UK supplies for FA-50 is subject to to the approval of the Government of the United Kingdom, which has an arms embargo against Argentina ”.
“We had been in dialogue with the Korean company KAI for the purchase of the FA-50 fighter plane for the FAA (Air Force)” but “today they tell us that Great Britain, which produces FA-50 components, prohibits the sale to our country ”, Revealed the minister through his Twitter account.
The Argentine Defense Minister denounced that this attitude reveals a “new display of imperial arrogance” in London and through the hashtag #MalvinasArgentinas that recalls the historic claim for the sovereignty of the islands, he was outraged by the new confrontational situation generated by the European country.
