
A Turkish submarine approached the Greek Cape Sounion (capital region of Attica) 70 km from Athens, invading Greek territorial waters, armyvoice.gr reported.
According to him, a Turkish submarine type 209 was discovered by a Greek anti-submarine helicopter when it crossed the Kafirefs Strait (between the Greek islands of Evia and Andros) and was approaching Attica. The frigate Salamis (“Salamis”) spotted a Turkish submarine west of the Greek island of Rhodes, and another was in the area of the island of Karpathos. In this regard, the portal notes, an alarm was announced in the Greek Air Force, and since Saturday morning, helicopter crews are “combing” with anti-submarine sonars every region of the Aegean Sea.
