Three soldiers died on Monday due to the accident of a military helicopter in the surroundings of the Algerian city of El Ataf, located in the province of Ain Defla (north), as confirmed by the authorities.
The Algerian Ministry of Defense has detailed in a statement published on its website that the deceased are Colonel Murad Menari, Commander Musa Mohamed Dahmani and Sergeant Usama Chebua.
The head of the Algerian Army, Said Chanegriha, has conveyed his sincere condolences to the relatives of the martyrs and has announced the opening of an investigation to determine “the causes and circumstances of this accident.”
The President of Algeria, Abdelmayid Tebune, has added to the condolences, who has spoken of a “painful incident”. “The president (…) extends his sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and to all the members of the Army, asking Almighty God to give his mercy to the martyrs,” he stressed, according to a statement published by the Presidency.
