
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) is preparing for the International Army Games military games and will host, for the first time, the Sniper Border test that in the 2021 edition was held in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The International Army Games will take place from August 13 to 27, this time the Latin American nation will be the scene of one of the 36 competitions, the Sniper Frontier competition that will take place in the military fort of Terepaima, in the state of Lara.
A total of 13 countries (Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan), have agreed to host this tournament organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense since 2015 and in which 237 teams from 31 countries have confirmed their participation.
The announcement, which has been made by the press department of the Ministry of People’s Power for Defense of Venezuela, through its official account on the social network Twitter, states: “Venezuela Heading to the Army Games 2022‼ FANB is getting ready to participate in the International Military Games, where they will compete with more than 30 countries that will have the opportunity to demonstrate the multiple abilities and skills in the art of War”.
The Sniper Frontier competition is divided into four categories that test skills and speed by individuals, pairs and teams, which will be armed with the SVD Dragunov 7.62mm precision rifle with organic day and night telescopic sights, a 9 pistol mm and a training grenade.
In this sense, since last April, the 621 Engineering Conditioning Battalion “Cap. Juan José Bufanda”, a tactical unit attached to the 62nd Brigade of Combat Engineers “G/B Luciano Urdaneta”, of the Sixth Corps of Engineers “Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho”, is building in Fort Terepaima all the infrastructure and areas shooting for the discipline that will be played in Venezuela.
For its part, the Central Region Construction and Maintenance Directorate, together with the 61st Brigade for the Conditioning of Engineers “G/B Agustín Codazzi”, has created a copy of the Tank Biathlon field at Fort Los Caribes, which, once completed , will have a firing range and equipment on a scale similar to that of the Alabino Military Training Ground in Moscow, with the aim that the team that will be chosen from the tank battalions that are attached to the 41st Armored Brigade prepare for the Army Games 2022.
