The Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria began large-scale maneuvers using significant combat forces and an AWACS aircraft.
Su-35 fighters and Ka-52 attack helicopters soared into the sky. Aviation control in the skies over Khmeimim air base is carried out by the A-50 AWACS aircraft.
More than 20 aircraft and helicopters participated in the training, including: 4 Su-35, 6 Su-34, 6 Mi-8 and 4 Ka-52, electronic warfare equipment, as well as P-12 air traffic control systems and Radars 48Ya6-K1 “Approach”.
The AWACS A-50 early warning and control aircraft is used to ensure flight zone safety and control the transfer of aircraft training to Al-Qamishli airfields in Khasek and Deir-Ez-Zor.
