From this Thursday afternoon, the National Guard of Mexico has been in charge of surveillance in the Metro Collective Transport System of the capital.
As announced in the morning by the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, 6,060 elements of that security force were deployed in the stations and other facilities of the underground network.
The corporation published on its social networks images of the arrival of the troops on the platforms, with the message: “The National Guard, in attention to the citizenry, runs through the platforms and subway stations in order to provide greater security to the users”.
