Syria and Russia representatives signed on Wednesday 12th period final protocol of meetings at Joint Commission for Trade, Economic and Scientific Cooperation in Moscow.
Syrian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Walid Al Mualem, and Deputy Prime Minister and Syrian-Russian Commission Co-Chairman , Yuri Borisov, were the signatories of the treaty and of a cooperation agreement on customs stuff.
During work sessions, Al Mualem said that it aims to build a strategic partnership at the height of existing relationships and urged to ensure ways and means that guarantee a qualitative leap in economic collaboration and commercial exchange.
He also expressed satisfaction with the achievements in economic cooperation and emphasized field so need to raise results in this area until aspirations of both peoples have been fulfilled, which has been endorsed by Presidents Bashar al Assad and Vladimir Putin.
“The Syrian people highly value the positions of Russian Federation regarding unjust war imposed on Syria, and appreciates their contribution to reconstruction process, as well as Russian support for Syrian national efforts to overcome the effects of aggression and restore security and well-being in the country, ”said the Syrian chancellor.
For his part, Borisov ratified Moscow’s will to continue interaction with Syria in a constructive and mutually beneficial way, both in political dialogue and in military, economic cooperation and human relations.
As part of plenary session of the Commission, the head of Syrian diplomacy acknowledged that the Russian position on terrorist aggression against his country constituted a new dimension for historical friendship between two nations and emphasized the support provided by Moscow has been decisive for victories against terrorist groups and their supporters.
