
Spain Kingdom recently announced it will close its military attaché in Venezuela, due budgetary reasons.
Similarly, the Spanish Ministry of Defense reported that the attaché office in Nicaragua will be closed.
Colonel Alejandro Rubiella will be the military attaché in Caracas until December 31 of this year.
“From now on, Venezuelan military affairs will be managed from the Cuban attaché,” reported the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
Rubiella is the only Defense Attaché, belonging to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), who remained in the country.
