On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu made a working trip to Damascus, where he was received by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The head of the Russian military department informed the Syrian president about the exercise of the Russian Navy in the Eastern Mediterranean.
During the meeting between Sergei Shoigu and Bashar al-Assad, various issues of technical-military cooperation between the countries were addressed in the framework of the joint fight against the remnants of international terrorists, as well as certain aspects of Russia’s humanitarian assistance to the population of Syria, which suffers from criminal sanctions by the United States and Western countries.
