What happened in Caracas on Wednesday July 7, 2021?
Since Wednesday July 7 afternoon (local time), criminal groups staged a shootout in the popular sector known as Cota 905, and the violence spread to El Valle, Cementerio, La Vega, San Juan, among others.
Faced with such a situation, the Venezuelan Government announced the deployment of security agencies “to restore peace and tranquility to the communities in the south and west of the city of Caracas.”
In turn, the Minister of Interior, chief admiral, Carmen Meléndez, denounced on Thursday that the criminal groups that generate terror in the south and west of the capital have international financing, as well as with the collaboration of sectors of the right wing of the Bolivarian country for planning, supplying weapons and communicational support.
