Peru’s President Pedro Castillo has sworn in his new Defense Minister, Emilio Bobbio Rosas.
The appointment occurs after the resignation last Saturday of Daniel Barragán, two months after his appointment and a week after having been ratified in the position.
The new head of Defense is a retired general. According to local media reports, in 2021 he was appointed head of the advisory cabinet of the National Intelligence Directorate (DINI). In addition, he served as director of the Army School of Engineering and the National Geographic Institute.
