In a video released by the Moroccan press, it is shown that an off-road vehicle similar to those used by the fighters of the Saharawi Liberation Army is the target of Moroccan artillery until it is set on fire after several unsuccessful shots.
ECSAHARAUI has been able to confirm that the video was recorded in an area called Tanafedh, approximately 70 kilometers from Bir Mogrein (Mauritanian). Likewise, it has also been confirmed that the impacted vehicle doesn’t belong to the Saharawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) or any of its soldiers, but rather belongs to the Mauritanian miners who had left it parked in the vicinity from where they carry out their extractive work. .
It should be noted that during the burst of shots, the car remains immobile and no one leaves it even if it is on fire.
The soldiers of the Moroccan army concluded that they had attacked a SPLA car, based only on the similarities and did not take into account to appreciate that it does not have a cannon.
