More than 800,000 North Korean volunteers have applied to enlist in the Army in a single day
More than 800,000 North Korean volunteers have applied to join the Army in a single day to fight the United States and “destroy the enemy.”
North Korean authorities have announced that more than 800,000 people volunteered to join or re-enroll in the military on Friday alone to fight the US and counter US nuclear “provocation”, according to a statement released by the official news agency KCNA.
“The strong and hot-blooded young vanguards with the indomitable will of our party against the enemy and the anti-American settlement, immediately rose up in the war to defend the country and destroy the enemy,” the note read.
The North Korean authorities have stressed that this “ardent” request by youth league officials and young students across the country to re-enlist in the Army or perform military service is a response to nuclear war provocation by the US imperialists.
