More than 300 military personnel from NATO allied have deployed to the Rapid Deployment Headquarters in Bétera, Spain
Preparatory activity. More than 300 military personnel from allied countries have been deployed to the NATO Rapid Deployment Headquarters in Bétera, Valencia, as part of a new exercise to support the training of other Army units. At the same time, it is one of the preparatory activities for the Bétera base to assume in 2022 its new role as Headquarters of the Army Corps (CE) in conventional operations. This task will mean being in a position to command up to five divisions from various countries of the Alliance, in a high intensity operation, against an adversary with similar capabilities and advanced technology. The exercise underway, assisted by computer, has as its main purpose to train the Headquarters of the «San Marcial» Division, based in Burgos. Its execution has required establishing a support, control and communications structure.
