1,296 women entered the Colombian military forces to provide voluntary military service. This first contingent will begin the military training that is also carried out with men. Women in Colombia have not provided military service for 25 years.
The law determines that military service for men is compulsory and for women it is voluntary, which is why more than 1,200 are the women who have presented themselves, in this first contingent that will provide military service throughout Colombia.
In addition to these, their objective is not only training, serving, but also pursuing a military career, many even say they want to be in the operational zones.
