The Moroccan Parliament has expressed its “satisfaction” for the “firm and peaceful” military operation of the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco (FAR) against Sahrawi activists who blocked the road that connects Morocco with Mauritania in Guerguerat, demilitarized zone according to the ceasefire agreement signed in 1991 between Morocco and the Polisario Front.
Thus, the Moroccan Senate has expressed its “pride” in the military actions “without resorting to arms and in compliance with international law, including UN Security Council resolution 2548” and in response to “criminal acts of bandits and mercenaries from the puppet entity (Polisario Front) who tried to destabilize the region, intimidate citizens and obstruct the movement of goods and merchandise, ”according to the Moroccan news agency MAP.
The motion, approved unanimously, thus supports the actions of the FAR “in a spirit of responsibility, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohamed VI, Supreme Chief of the Royal Armed Forces, for the defense of integrity territory of the Kingdom and the legitimate rights of the Nation and to guarantee security and stability throughout the national territory, including the southern provinces ”, as Morocco officially calls the former Spanish colony of Western Sahara.
