Off-road scooters for military purposes will be produced in Latvia
From January 2021, the Latvian company Wolftrike plans to start production of Mosphera electric scooters intended for military purposes, said the founder of Wolftrike Klavs Ashmanis.
He said that the scooter can also be purchased for personal needs, and the first copies will reach customers in May.
The range of scooter use is very wide.
“These versatile electric scooters can be used for patrolling and for the internal mobility of military bases and temporary airports. Its functionality is emphasized by the fact that a specially equipped trailer with a high carrying capacity can be connected to the scooter to transport people and equipment, ”said Ashmanis.
The Mosphera scooter is unique for its robust frame and chassis, which make it possible to ride comfortably not only on smooth asphalt, but also on uneven surfaces and off-road conditions, Ashmanis said.
“Therefore, unlike conventional scooters, Mosphera has a choice of different tires – for the street, off-road and even studded tires for icy roads. One of the important indicators for electric vehicles is the distance that can be covered on a single charge. With a full battery, you can drive 100 kilometers, but you can connect another battery of the same type, doubling the journey on a single charge, ”he said.
Ashmanis said that he could not name the amount of investments in the project. As a potential sales market, the founder of the enterprise named NATO countries, as well as other European countries. Farmers from both Latvia and other European countries showed great interest in the scooter.
