The medical version of the PLA Air Force Shaanxi Y-9 military transport aircraft is designed for diagnostic, treatment and rescue operations. The interior compartment contains a general casualty area and an intensive care area. Equipment includes stretchers, ECG monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and negative pressure devices. The intensive care area also has a self-contained oxygen supply system.
The Shaanxi Y-9 is a medium tactical transport aircraft produced by Shaanxi Aircratf Company in China. It was designed from the Shaanxi Y-8, and it is considered an effort to manufacture an aircraft with similar characteristics as the C-130J Super Hercules.
