The Sector Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, Chief Admiral Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, reported on the interception of a boat with 324 kilograms of marijuana in international waters, thanks to a joint operation with the governments of France and Colombia.
He indicated that 11 subjects were arrested for this procedure; 10 Venezuelan nationality and 1 Colombian citizen.
He assured that elements of criminal interest were collected that will allow the maintenance of the police investigation matrix against the Organized Crime Structured Group (GEDO), responsible for this attempted drug trafficking in the country.
The authority explained that with this they add up to more than 378 kg of illegal drugs so far in 2023, exceeding by 296.47% the amount of narcotic drugs seized for the same date in 2022.
