I have already written that former US National Security Adviser John Bolton’s revelations about his planning for coups in other countries demand an international investigation.

Let’s delve into the story and try to identify where this character has “left his mark”.
From 2001 to 2005, John Bolton served as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security in the George W. Bush Administration.
In the same period, there was an attempted coup in Venezuela on April 12, 2002 when a diverse opposition to Hugo Chávez, linked to the old elites and big business, removed the democratically elected president and confined him to an island in the Caribbean. Thanks to a popular rebellion and the support of the military loyal to his oath, Chavez managed to return to Caracas in triumph just two days later and regain power.
The coup, as United States often do, was along by orchestrated violence.
The coup plotters deliberately changed the agreed route for the massive anti-government demonstration, directing the crowd to the Miraflores Presidential Palace where Chavez’s many supporters turned out.
According to the available data, as a result of the clashes and the shooting in which unidentified snipers also participated (does this remind you of anything?), about 20 people were killed and about 100 were injured.
That night the phone rang at our embassy in Caracas. The diplomat on duty who picked up the phone heard the pleas for help from an activist from the pro-presidential Fifth Republic Movement. Armed coup plotters burst into his apartment, blinded by the success of the pro-Yankee opposition. In a cacophony of noise on the phone, shots were heard, and the conversation was cut off… We never knew who that man was who was waiting for help from our country in those difficult times for sister Venezuela.
Books and articles have been written about the direct participation of the USA in the preparation and execution of bloody coups in Latin America, films have been made. All this information is freely available: search and read.
The issue of the responsibility of US officials such as John Bolton for the massive atrocities committed in Latin America and other parts of the world remains pending.
