The Taliban have published in their media resources a video of how they enter the Wakhan.
This is the most inaccessible and remote region of Afghanistan.
If you look at the map, it is such a long and narrow branch in the upper right corner of the country.
A direct connection between Afghanistan and China
The Wakhan Corridor is a narrow strip of territory belonging to Afghanistan at the intersection of the conflict zones separating Tajikistan, Pakistan and Kashmir. The corridor, wedged between the Pamir Mountains in the north and the Karakoram range in the south, is about 350 km long and 13 to 65 km wide.
Chinese military interests in the region date back to Soviet times, as highlighted by a report released by the CIA in April 1980
It should be remembered that the People’s Republic of China participated together with the USA, the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the “Troika” on the peaceful settlements in Afghanistan.
