Fourth drug trafficking aircraft neutralized in Venezuela so far 2023.
In 2023, 100% of the operations have been done at night from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The commander of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), Domingo Hernández Lares, published on his Twitter account:
Venezuela is a territory of Peace! We will fight any attempt to violate our national sovereignty. We will not be a clue to drug trafficking nor will we allow the honor of our nation to be sullied with infamous vices. FANB is Bolivarian Shield!
The Control Law for the Comprehensive Defense of the Airspace aims to establish the rules that govern the control for the Comprehensive Defense of the continental, insular and maritime airspace of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in exercise of its sovereignty and in attention to the highest interests of Integral security and defense for the application of actions of interception, persuasion and disablement of any aircraft or object that, without being an aircraft, infringes the provisions on air traffic.
