The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Ukrainian nationalist fighters Azov battalion and military Ukrainians who were holed up in Mariupol Azovstal metallurgical plant began to surrender this May 16, 2022.
The agency explained that 265 fighters laid down their arms during the last day, 51 of whom are seriously injured. All people who need medical help are being sent to a hospital in the city of Novoazovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
