In the last few hours there was an armed attack, apparently by FARC guerrilla dissidents in the municipality of Caldono, in the department of Cauca. The incident occurred in an indigenous reservation that is located in the Pueblo Nuevo area and “left 4 people injured, including a minor under 13 years of age, and one of them died.”
The wounded were taken by the indigenous guard to health centers in the town. The violent act would be a criminal act of the Dagoberto Ramos structure, a FARC dissidence with a wide presence in northern Cauca.
The human rights coordinator of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca, Cric, Edwin Guetio, reported that the FARC dissidents entered the Pueblo Nuevo Reservation, in the municipality of Caldono, northern Cauca.
According to the Cric’s senior adviser, Mauricio Capaz, the situation is worrisome because the illegal armed group fired weapons against the indigenous guard.
