In memory of 192 years of the passing into eternity of The Liberator, Simón Bolívar, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, the hoisting of the Venezuela Flag was carried out at the National Pantheon, located in Caracas.
The Vice Minister of Internal Policy and Legal Security, Alana Zuloaga, handed over the national flag to the Sector Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, Chief Admiral Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, who in turn handed it over to the Senior Ensign, Miguel Ángel García Hernández, from the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela.
The movement of the national flag was also accompanied by the defense minister, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López; the Comptroller General of the Republic, Elvis Amoroso; the People’s Power Minister for the Penitentiary Service, Mirelys Contreras and the Deputy Commander and Chief of the Joint Staff of the Strategic Operational Command (CEOFANB), Major General José Santiago Moreno Martínez.
After the raising of the national flag accompanied by the National Anthem of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the also Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, highlighted that The Liberator Simón Bolívar was an outstanding factor in the revolutionary epic, for the liberation and consolidation of Venezuela.
In this sense, he stressed that “we continue with your revolutionary, deep message, here is your thought, your feeling is valid.”
In the same way, he recalled the events of July 5, 1811, in a fundamental harangue, “let us lay the foundation stone of freedom without fear, to hesitate is to lose oneself.”
Likewise, he praised the clarification of the most powerful empire of the time against which Bolívar fought together with the patriots “you gave us independence, sovereignty despite all the vicissitudes and difficulties that you encountered along the way Father Bolívar, you achieved freedom of the peoples of South America”.
He expressed that “the Father of the Nation, Simón Bolívar, taught us the thought of national security.”
In this regard, he emphasized that seeing how Venezuela “has defeated blockades, coercive, unilateral, illegal and inhumane measures, it seems that we are going back to the struggles for independence.”
He mentioned that there were two decades of attacks against the country, “we continue with the people, as ordered by the Constitution, President Nicolás Maduro, who carries the big effort and the sword of The Liberator with the people.”
Ceballos mentioned that Popular Power is not alone “because it has a Bolivarian Government that works for the happiness of its people.”
At the end of the act, the minutes of the ceremony were read and signed by the attending authorities, as a symbol of having rendered the respective honors to the Father of the Nation, Simón Bolívar.
During the activity, the theater group of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education presented the proposal The Last Proclamation.
At the age of 47, in the early afternoon of December 17, 1830, after a morning marked by the constant fading of vital signs, the Father of the Nation passed away.
After noon, the main hall of the Quinta San Pedro Alejandrino, located in Santa Marta, Colombia, was occupied by the aides-de-camp, the military leadership of the Patriot Army and the most intimate friends of The Liberator
