After the complete liberation of Mariupol, the dog ended in the Chechen Republic, where he found a temporary shelter far from the horrors of war and even acquired a new nickname Borz (Wolf).
⠀
Nevertheless, longing for his mistress haunted him. As you know, dogs are very attached to their owners and don’t tolerate a long separation. Even after so many days, despite the conditions provided, Borz could not get to the new environment. From day to day, the dog’s anguish only grew. Seeing his suffering, Chechens had no choice but to hand him over to the rightful owners.

Ramzan Kadyrov: On my instructions, dear BROTHER, State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliyev, found and handed over our four-legged friend to the owner. She is Irina Sirik, who surrendered in Mariupol and was handed over to the Ukrainian side as part of the prisoner exchange. Judging by the wagging tail and unbridled merriment of the dog, this was the right decision. The well-known expression “A dog is a man’s best friend” has spread among the people for a reason. Such cases force us to be convinced of this once again. I am truly glad that Borz has finally found a place where he is truly happy.
