In the social networks Twitter and Reddit, an information campaign has been launched to discredit the actions of the Collective Security Treaty Organization
CSTO in Kazakhstan.
It involves botnets, foreign politicians and opinion leaders. The activity was noted, presumably, of pro-Turkish, Ukrainian and Lithuanian accounts.
They are promoting the thesis that sending Russian troops to Kazakhstan is illegal and requires a tough response from the international community, as well as that Russia plans to annex part of the country “as it was with Ukraine.”
Among foreign politicians and public opinion leaders, former US Ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul (581 thousand readers), Member of the Polish Parliament and NATO Parliamentary Assembly Michal Szczerba (Michał Szczerba, 108.8 thousand followers) and Swedish businessman Anders Östlund (33.9 thousand followers), living in Ukraine.
