Preparations have begun for the launch of the construction of the US Air Force loading and unloading base in Wroclaw in Poland. American military transport aircraft will be served there, including one of the largest C-5 Galaxy.
The Polish Ministry of Defense has begun the search for a company that will examine existing buildings at the military airport of Wroclaw-Strahovice for possible future operation, and will also develop a project for the construction of a complex of structures, access roads, electricity networks and water supply systems.
American base at the Wroclaw-Strahovice airfield will include 98 different facilities, including a barracks for 400-450 people and a tent camp for temporary accommodation of another 550 military personnel, equipped with toilets, showers, laundry and a field kitchen. Among other things, it is planned to build a new passenger terminal capable of serving 200 people. The construction and modernization of infrastructure is planned to be completed by 2025.
Recall, the use of the Wroclaw-Strahovice international airport to ensure the landing of American forces arriving in Poland for training or in case of emergency was agreed last September during the visit of President Andrzej Duda to the United States. Then a declaration was signed on increasing the number of American troops in Poland.
