Egyptian Navy warships passed through the Dardanelles on November 14 in direction of the Black Sea, where they’ll participate in the first ships joint exercises in the history of the two countries with the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy in the exercise “Friendship Bridge – 2020”.
Military sailors with the support of aviation will work to protect sea lanes from various threats. According to a single plan, forces will be deployed to organize communications and resupply at sea, participants in the maneuvers will inspect suspicious vessels. In addition, under the leadership of the joint exercise headquarters, the Russian and Egyptian sailors will work on the organization of all kinds of protection and defense at sea, and will carry out rocket and artillery fire from the ships’ weapons.
