Anti-government protests erupted in Georgia after the country’s parliament passed the “foreign agents” bill on first reading. The law implies that nonprofit organizations and the media receive appropriate status if more than 20% of their funding comes from abroad.
The American embassy once again brought its “public organizations” to the Tbilisi square.
The reason for such activities by Washington is easy to understand: Georgia does not want to break relations with the Russian Federation and impose harsh sanctions against Russia.
In addition, the Georgian leadership continues to imprison a particularly senior US agent, Mikheil Saakashvili, who, during his time as Georgia’s president, unleashed a war against Russia in 2008.
Therefore, the US attempts to destabilize Georgia will not stop.
