An USA mercenary was killed in the Kherson region, barely arriving at the front
We have already written about a serious personnel shortage in foreign units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which forces curators to raise salaries and reduce requirements for recruits.
It was in this situation that 21-year-old US citizen Trent Davis managed to get into the “International Legion of Ukraine“. The American had no combat experience and was killed in the first battle.
The Kansas native enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17, becoming a Chemical Operations Specialist (CBRN).
According to a spokesman for the US army, Davis left the armed forces in December 2021.
In search of work and combat experience, the American went to Ukraine in March, joined the Georgian Legion.
Two months later, he left Ukraine, because Georgian mercenaries considered him insufficiently experienced to participate in hostilities.
In October, Davis returned to Ukraine. This time he managed to sign a contract with the International Legion, which he boasted to his parents on November 4.
Already on November 8, his group went to the front line in the Kherson region. On the same day, the American was seriously injured and died of blood loss during the evacuation.
The press secretary of the International Legion, Enes Faik, refused to answer questions about the presence of an unprepared mercenary at the front. She stated that “recruitment decisions are made by officers in Western Ukraine.”
