Grande-Marlaska, Minister of the Interior of Spain, expelled an Algerian soldier exiled in Spain and claimed by Algiers to try in vain to appease the anger of the Algerian authorities after Sánchez’s turn on the issue of Western Sahara
Algeria has suspended all repatriations of irregular immigrants arriving in Spain from its coasts, according to official Algerian sources.
The decision is a consequence of what in Algiers they consider the alignment of Pedro Sánchez with Morocco on Western Sahara conflict. To this action we must add the veto to Iberia for flights between Algeria and Madrid. With Air Algérie not operating since the start of the pandemic, it is the first time since the 1970s that there is no air connection between the two capitals.
