General activo del Ejército colombiano admite relación con narcotraficantes
General of the Colombian National Army, Jorge Hernando Herrera Díaz, admitted a relationship with a group outside the law. The uniformed officer justified this link as a strategy against FARC dissidents.
In addition, he confessed that he meets with them recurrently and that he receives help with casualties. The band with which they would have the connection is called ‘Los Pocillos’. This, through an illegal corridor, would transport about 150 tons of cocaine a year.
The soldier would have been exposed after Noticias Uno, together with Cambio, obtained some recordings from July 2019 that demonstrated this, since Díaz made the confession.
It was learned that in previous years they had already denounced the alleged connections between the Army and these groups, but these investigations stalled.
