To make the firing of 100-gun salute perfect during the grand gathering that celebrated the Communist Party of China (CPC) centenary on Thursday, soldiers from the honor guard brigade of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) underwent rigorous training
The 56 hundred-gun salutes, fired at Tiananmen Square in Beijing on Thursday to mark the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), used hi-tech and eco-friendly materials that produce zero pollution, Chinese media reported.
The salutes fired at the celebration ceremony of the CPC’s centenary were an improved version of China’s “sixth-generation salute,” China Central Television (CCTV) said on Thursday.
The “sixth-generation salute” was used for the first time during the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.
Also, the 100,000 balloons released at the end of the Thursday ceremony were made of 100-percent degradable materials, which do not cause pollution to the environment, Beijing Daily reported on Thursday.
“The balloons used at the ceremony were made of natural emulsion,” CCTV explained on Friday. “Filled with colorless, tasteless and non-flammable helium, they will burst when reach a certain height, and fully degrade about seven days after falling to the earth,” it added.
