Through a statement, the Mexican National Defense Secretariat reported that 500 more elements of the Mexican Army arrived in Jalisco to reinforce the security of the entity and carry out various operations in support of the actions undertaken by state and municipal authorities from Jalisco.
Currently there are 3,300 members of the Mexican Army and the National Guard throughout the territory of Jalisco.
The arrival of the military to Jalisco is part of the strategy called “Mexico Joint Task Force” and is made up of Infantry, National Guard, Paratroopers and Special Forces units, depending on the geographical area where the uniformed officers will operate.
“The Joint Task Force Mexico has the characteristics of great mobility and power, but above all the ability to be deployed quickly to one or several parts of the national territory by land or air,” assured SEDENA.
The statement emphasized that the Mexican Army and the National Guard aim to ensure the safety of citizens, cooperating with the government of Jalisco, “to guarantee the peace and security of Mexicans.”
