27 years ago, Hamas fighters dressed up as religious Jews, abduct israeli soldier Nachshon Wachsman from a junction in central occupied Palestine by offering him a ride.
They held him hostage for six days. They then take Wachsman to a secret hiding place they prepared in advance in northeast of Jerusalem.
They released a video of him at gunpoint, reading out an ultimatum to the israeli regime:
“The guys from Hamas kidnapped me. They are demanding the release of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and another 200 from israeli prison. If their demands are not met, they will execute me on Friday at 8 P.M.”
At 8 P.M. on that day, the hour of the ultimatum, elite IDF commandos from the ‘Sayeret Matkal’ special forces carried out an operation to free Wachsman.
The operation failed
Wachsman was executed on the spot, the second the Hamas fighters realized that there are forces attempting to break in.
