The entity with the greatest deployment is Guanajuato, where 3,200 military personnel and the National Guard arrived. Despite the fact that the dispute between the Jalisco Nueva Generación and Santa Rosa de Lima cartels has decreased in recent months, the state remains one of the states with the most intentional homicides.
According to the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), in February there were 12,000 troops deployed in the state, but in March the figure rose to 14,700 elements. In addition, 500 members of the Guard arrived.
While in Michoacán, an entity that has a “high priority” for the President, according to a military official, 3,100 soldiers arrived during the year, mainly in the municipalities bordering Jalisco.

At least 1,600 federal troops arrived in Sonora, Baja California and Baja California Sur. On March 14, a thousand soldiers were sent to the second military region, which includes the three entities. Three days later, 400 soldiers arrived in Tijuana and this Friday another 200. Their goal is to help reduce homicides linked to organized crime.
A thousand 250 soldiers arrived in Guerrero, mainly in the municipalities of Acapulco and Chilpancingo. In the next few days they will be transferred to tourist destinations, in order to guarantee security during the Easter holidays.
Quintana Roo, currently the main tourist destination in the country, has been reinforced with 1,200 elements, mainly in Cancun, Tulum and Playa del Carmen, where clashes between drug gangs have increased.
The military have increased their presence on public beaches in the state to guarantee the safety of national and foreign visitors. In addition to this, the Secretary of the Navy carries out nautical patrols, given the use of jet skis by criminal groups after committing crimes.

Colima is another of the entities that most worries the federal government in terms of security. Just last Thursday, 950 federal elements arrived to support the authorities in crime containment activities.
More than 700 soldiers have been transferred to Tamaulipas this year to prevent an escalation of violence, after the arrest of criminal leaders, such as Juan Gerardo Treviño, El Huevo, leader of the Northeast cartel.
Zacatecas is among the states with the most insecurity problems in recent months. Due to the above, 519 soldiers from the special forces were sent to the state, after the exodus of 2,000 residents of Jerez, Fresnillo, Valparaíso and Monte Escobedo due to threats from criminal groups.
They are intended to combat criminal groups and install new military bases in the affected regions to achieve the return of displaced families.
In Jalisco, the birthplace of the CJNG, the Sedena sent 500 soldiers in the face of the escalation of violence in the areas bordering Colima and Michoacán. They will be part of the strategy called “Mexico Joint Task Force.”
The same number of military elements arrived in Puebla and Tlaxcala to reinforce security and carry out operations against criminal groups, dedicated to human trafficking and fuel theft.
San Luis Potosí received 400 soldiers to shield the border con Zacatecas. The entity is disputed by various cartels, because it is an obligatory step for the land transportation of drugs, from the center and lowlands, to the north of the country and the United States.
The Secretary of the Navy sent 300 troops to Morelos to strengthen public security operations in the entity and collaborate in the arrest of priority objectives.
On the other hand, 250 military personnel arrived in Oaxaca to reinforce security in the areas of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the coast and the Mixteca.
